To cherish cashmere for years to come

Cashmere naturally possesses antibacterial properties, making it resistant to odors and stains.

However, proper care is essential to ensure long-lasting enjoyment.

While professional cleaning is an option, home laundering allows you to care for your garments without compromising the fabric's quality.

Here, we introduce simple care methods you can perform at home.

No special tools are required, and the steps are straightforward. You can easily maintain your garments using items you likely already have at home.

Step 1: Brushing

Having one horsehair brush suitable for cashmere allows you to use it on various garments. Use a brush with as large a surface area as possible. The long horsehair is soft yet resilient, gently removing dust without damaging the knit. While brushing, check the condition of the knit. If there are stains, send it to the dry cleaner without hesitation. If pilling has formed, remove it using a lint remover or similar tool.

Step 2: Washing

Dissolve shampoo in lukewarm water (around 36°C/97°F) and lather thoroughly. Use about 2 teaspoons per 5 liters of water. ※ Animal hair is sensitive to alkali, so mildly alkaline soap shampoos are not recommended. Fold the sweater, submerge it slowly, and gently press-wash for 3-5 minutes. Avoid friction; instead, imagine distributing the shampoo solution evenly throughout the fibers.

Step 3: Dehydration

Use a washing machine to spin-dry.
One minute is sufficient. Using a gentle cycle is preferable.
Knitwear is most fragile and prone to stretching when wet. When removing it, transfer it to a bucket without pulling, then place it in the washing machine.
For top-loading machines: Roll the sweater and lay it flat along the bottom edge. This minimizes movement inside during the spin cycle.
For front-loading machines: Place the folded sweater directly into the machine inside a laundry net.

Step 4: Rinsing

Fill the basin with lukewarm water at the same temperature used for washing. Add one pump of conditioner and mix thoroughly. Conditioner dissolves slowly, so dissolve it carefully. Place the spun-dry knitwear into the basin. Press gently to rinse, taking care to avoid friction. Spin-dry again as in step ③. For the second rinse, use cold water. Press-wash thoroughly in plenty of water and repeat the spin-dry cycle.

Step 5: Drying

After dehydration, reshape the knitwear and lay it flat to dry. ※Hanging on a hanger is strictly prohibited. If you don't have a drying rack, at least lay it flat on a bath towel. Avoid direct sunlight. The key is to turn it inside out halfway through and dry it thoroughly.

Step 6: Finishing

Set the iron to medium heat or 150°C. Apply steam generously, lifting the fabric slightly as you iron. Dry thoroughly to remove all moisture, then brush to smooth the fabric. Fold neatly and store with moth repellent.
